Leyden High School Training Program
NORCOMM Public Safety Communications Inc. is proud to partner with Leyden High School District 212 to provide a vocational education program for students interested in a career as a 9-1-1 Public Safety Telecommunicator.
Using the latest public safety communication strategies and best practices, highly experienced NORCOMM personnel instruct future Telecommunicators in a wide range of concepts and also train them to perform core critical tasks.
Course work topics include the following:
- Responder Safety
- Legal Concepts
- Interpersonal Communications
- Emergency Communications Technology
- Call Processing & Incident Handling
- Emergency Management
- Practical Exercises
- Stress Management
This special program is two semesters in length and open to Leyden High School District 212 students who possess a minimum GPA of 2.5 and a 90% attendance average.
